A brief but tense interaction between a delivery driver and a customer has drawn widespread attention online after it was captured on a doorbell camera and shared during a week of severe winter weather.
The video, which has circulated widely on social media, shows a delivery driver arriving at a customer’s home with a pizza and knocking on the door. After the customer signs the delivery receipt and hands it back without adding a tip, the driver turns and begins walking away with the food still in hand.
“You can come get it,” the driver is heard saying as they head toward their car. Moments later, the driver adds, “We’re not delivering for no tips today,” before telling the customer they would need to pick up the order from the store.
The exchange quickly sparked debate online, with viewers split over whether the driver’s actions were understandable given the circumstances — or inappropriate regardless of tipping expectations.
According to Inside Edition, the customer involved, Jaylen Howard, said the situation escalated before he had the opportunity to tip. “So when he came, we did the transaction or whatever,” Howard told the outlet. “I got the receipt and signed for it, and he snatched it out of my hand and walked away.”
Howard added that he ultimately did receive the pizza after another driver arrived. “Yeah, I got the pizza,” he said. “Another guy came out.”
He also said he had planned to tip $15 on the $29 order, but the moment unfolded too quickly. “I intended to tip,” Howard explained during the interview.

The incident occurred on Jan. 25, 2026, as snowstorms affected large portions of the United States, creating hazardous travel conditions and disrupting deliveries. Areas near Washington, D.C., where Howard lives, were among those impacted by the storm system.
Online reactions reflected broader conversations about tipping culture and the pressures faced by delivery workers — especially during extreme weather. Some commenters expressed sympathy for drivers navigating dangerous conditions, while others argued that refusing to hand over paid-for food crossed a line.
A spokesperson for Domino’s shared with PEOPLE an update on the driver’s employment status. They note, “The behavior of the driver in this video, who was employed by an independent franchise business owner, is completely unacceptable. The franchisee has reached out the customer impacted to apologize and has terminated the driver.”
