Diggs and Raver-Lampman, who met while they were both in ‘Hamilton,’ announced on July 6 that they are expecting their second baby together

No one is more excited about Daveed Diggs and Emmy Raver-Lampman’s family growing than their own son.
The actor, 44, spoke with Entertainment Tonight at the Los Angeles premiere of I Want Your Sex on Tuesday, July 28, and was asked how he and his wife, 37, are feeling after announcing they are expecting their second baby together. “Excited. Mostly really excited. Tired,” admitted Diggs. “It’s definitely more tiring already having a toddler. So yeah, we’re exhausted but really excited.”
“Our first is very excited, too. So that’s really sweet,” the actor said of his 2-year-old son. “Says good morning to his brother every day in the belly and stuff.”

On July 6, Diggs and Raver-Lampman announced they were expecting another baby through a shared post on Instagram. In the black-and-white candid photo, the longtime loves could be seen laughing alongside their older son.
“Our little family is growing! full disclosure, our household is being held together by the delicate balance of yogurt pouches, water balloons and a prayer but we are utterly overjoyed to be adding this tiny human to the chaos!” Raver-Lampman began the caption for their joint post. “This little one has a big brother who can’t wait to ‘read books, play trains, have milkshakes and listen to Kendrick’ with them!”

“Our hearts couldn’t be fuller and the bags under our eyes couldn’t be bigger!” she continued. “We can’t wait to meet you little one! ❤️.”
The Boys star and The Umbrella Academy actress met while working on Hamilton in 2015, started dating a year later and eventually announced the birth of their first child, a son whose name they’ve kept private, in March 2024.

At the time, Raver-Lampman shared an Instagram post featuring her newborn’s tiny feet and a sweet caption about his birth.
“Dear baby, you have forever changed us. our hearts are filled with a kind of love we never thought possible,” she wrote. “We love you more than you will truly ever know. thank you for choosing us. now please…go the f–k to sleep. love, mom and dad. ♥️.”
Speaking with PEOPLE at the premiere of the sci-fi film In the Blink of an Eye at the Sundance Film Festival last January, the actor discussed fatherhood, saying it’s the “best thing” he’s ever done.”
“It’s the best thing I’ve ever done — and it’s not even close, and I’ve lived a charmed life since,” he said. “But I think in terms of how it relates to my work, to me it just felt like an immediate focusing agent.”
“Sometimes it’s hard to be like, ‘Oh, what should I do right now? Or is this a thing I need to take or should I be out here hustling more?’ And all of a sudden it was just like, ‘If it doesn’t make [my son’s] life better, it doesn’t matter,’ ” Diggs added.
