Team USA is making history in Italy!
The U.S. mixed doubles curling team, comprised of beloved duo Cory Thiesse and Korey Dropkin, took home silver after they were defeated 6-5 by Team Sweden in the gold medal match in Cortina d'Ampezzo, Italy on Tuesday, Feb. 10 — and Thiesse became the first U.S. woman to medal in curling.
Thiesse, 31, who also plays for the women's team, and Dropkin, 30, fell to the brother-sister duo of Isabella Wranå and Rasmus Wranå in a nail-biting match one day after Cory and Korey beat out Great Britain to advance to the gold medal game at the 2026 Winter Olympics.

Team USA's silver medal win on Tuesday also marks just the third time the U.S. has medaled in curling and the first time in mixed curling.
The crowd at the Cortina Curling Olympic Stadium was lively throughout the match on Tuesday, with fans of both Sweden and the U.S. representing their teams in the stands.
Dropkin, a pro at getting the crowd hyped up, regularly interacted with U.S. fans in the stands throughout the match. During a particularly fun moment in the seventh round, one fan shouted out, "Korey, show me your biceps," to which Dropkin kindly agreed, smiling and flexing his arm to the crowd.
When a group of fans shouted to Thiesse, she excitedly looked up to the group to acknowledge them with a wave and a smile.
Before Thiesse took the ice with Dropkin in the gold medal game, her husband Sam Thiesse posted a sweet tribute to his wife.
"One more game!! Go get that Gold, @corychristensen7 and @koreydropkin!! Keep making history and let’s go TEAM USA!!!," he wrote alongside a photo of himself with Thiesse, both wearing Team USA gear.
Sam, who married the curling star in June 2022, also shared a photo of the couple's dog, Odie, wearing Thiesse's jersey. "Odie is ready to cheer loud! Let’s go CK!! Team USA!," he added.
