A blizzard couldn’t keep this Connecticut couple from saying “I do!”
On Sunday, Feb. 22, Kelli and Robert Noonan’s wedding day was nearly overshadowed by Blizzard Calvin, which brought up to 30 inches of snow to some parts of the state. But rather than letting the snowfall keep them inside, the couple embraced the winter theme and held their ceremony nonetheless.
“We did want a winter theme. I think I wished a little too hard for a winter theme,” Kelli quipped to local outlet WTNH. “We were pretty set that we were gonna make it happen, and we did and we ended up moving the time up."
“I called all the vendors, everybody was fantastic,” she continued. “They were all on board — and where there’s a will, there's a way.”

Indeed, Robert said that the vendors told him they were “waiting” for their call to see how they would navigate the major snowstorm.
“We didn’t want anyone to get stuck in the snow,” he emphasized. “I was telling [Kelli], if there’s one person who shows up or there’s a thousand people who show up, it doesn’t really matter at the end of the day.”
“We’re still doing this for us,” he added. “It could just be the two of us dancing by ourselves all night, and it would still be our day.”

While the couple ultimately tied the knot a few hours earlier than they had initially planned, they were still surrounded by their friends and family.
As seen in photos from their ceremony, the snow fell beautifully around them as they danced and laughed together, just hours before the height of the storm.
As for their honeymoon? Kelli and Robert had planned to hop on a flight to Punta Cana shortly after exchanging their vows — until their flight got canceled.
“Now, we are about to rent a car and road trip down to North Carolina to fly out of North Carolina at 8:30 a.m. tomorrow,” Robert said, to which Kelli quipped, “No better way to start a marriage — 12 hours in the car together, and we are again determined to get to our honeymoon destination.”
