Christina Haack and Tarek and Heather Rae El Moussa are one modern family — even if they don’t know what they are to each other.
In an Instagram video shared on Sunday, Aug. 23, The Flip Off stars revealed a glimpse of one of their funny conversations while hanging out with Haack’s boyfriend, Chris Larocca. In the clip, the foursome hilariously talked through their connection to one another and the kids who make up their blended family.
“What is your relation to [Haack’s son] Hudson? Are you his ex-stepdad? Ex-uncle?” Larocca asks Tarek at the beginning of the conversation, prompting Haack to put her head in her hands while Heather can be heard laughing in the background. Haack shares her 6-year-old son with her second ex-husband, Ant Anstead. She also has daughter Taylor, 15, and son Brayden, 11, with Tarek. Haack and her third ex husband, Josh Hall, did not have any children together.
In response to the question, Tarek — who was first married to Haack from 2009 to 2016 — bursts out laughing and asks, “Am I her brother?” referring to Larocca’s uncle guess.

Repeating the question, Larocca asks, “What is your relation to Hudson? There’s gotta be a name,” which prompts Tarek to admit, “This is actually a very good question.”
Chiming in, Haack then says, “Brayden’s his half-brother. This only applies to you because we have kids together,” referring to Hudson’s relation to her ex-husband.
As the group continues to brainstorm the proper term to describe the relationship, Heather then interjects, “Should we ChatGPT this? I need to really think this through.”
The conversation continues as Larocca reiterates, “Brayden and Hudson are blood brothers,” because they share the same mom. Referring to Tarek, he adds, “And that is [Brayden’s] father. There has to be a name!”

“It’s his half-dad,” Haack proposes, as Heather then brings up her and Tarek’s 3-year-old son Tristan, who they welcomed after tying the knot in October 2021.
“What about Tristan? Because Tristan’s blood…” Heather trails off, before another realization hits her. “And what am I? I’m the stepmom. I’m the ex-stepmom, half?”

As the conversation confuses the group even more, Larocca concludes, “This is what’s called a modern family,” and Heather says the saga is “to be continued.”

Haack and the El Moussas recently shared another look inside their unconventional co-parenting relationship when they all worked together to surprise Taylor with a $150,000 BMW ahead of her 16th birthday.
In the joint Instagram video shared on Thursday, Aug. 13, the teen can be seen driving around an empty parking lot with her dad for a driving lesson. Suddenly, Haack and Heather drive up in the light blue SUV decorated with a pink bow, sparking an emotional reaction from Taylor.
“What’s more of a surprise… the car for Taylor or the fact that the three of us actually pulled this off? 😂,” Heather jokingly captioned the video. “The car is so well deserved, we love you so much Tay.”
