Chris Pratt wasn’t given a heads-up about just how much of his brother-in-law he was going to see in season 3 of The White Lotus.
Pratt, who is married to season 3 star Patrick Schwarzenegger’s sister Katherine Schwarzenegger, is of course tuning in to see Patrick, 31, in the hit Mike White series, but he’s seeing more than he bargained for.
“I did not know I was gonna be seeing him fully nude in that way,” Pratt told Entertainment Tonight when asked about his brother-in-law’s brief full-frontal scene in the premiere episode.
Though he didn’t get a warning ahead of time, Pratt, 45, commended Patrick for taking the risk — and looking good while doing it. “Hey, he looks good, you know what I mean? I was like, rock it, bro,” he said.
Pratt continued to praise Patrick, who he said he’s “so proud of,” as is “everyone in his family.”
“He does a great job in White Lotus,” he told the outlet. “I love White Lotus. I was a fan of White Lotus before, so when he got it, everyone was super pumped for him.”

Patrick’s brief nude shot in the season 3 premiere, which aired Feb. 16, also elicited some reactions from the rest of his family.
His dad Arnold Schwarzenegger celebrated the major role in a post on Instagram after attending the premiere, and wrote of the nude scene in particular: “I could claim to be surprised to find out he has a nude scene, but what can I say – the apple doesn’t fall far from the tree.”
His mom Maria Shriver had a slightly different reaction. “My kids were like, ‘Did you see that?’ And I was like, ‘No. What?’” Shriver told PEOPLE when asked about the nude scene. “So that shows you — a mother’s eyes are always on the kids’ eyes.”
Nudity aside, Shriver, 69, took the chance to rave about her son, who she shares with Arnold, 77, along with Katherine, Christina and Christopher Schwarzenegger.
“I was so happy for him because he’s worked so hard,” she told PEOPLE. “He takes classes, he’s really been grinding at it for more than a decade, and he wanted to work his way up — and he’s done it his way.”

The role means a great deal to Patrick too, who told PEOPLE he “started crying” immediately when he found out he was cast as Saxon Ratliff. “It was the greatest day in history for me,” he said in PEOPLE’S February digital cover.
There were tears when the rest of his family found out as well. “I went and had lunch with my whole family the week later, and I told them, and my mom started bursting out crying. Then my sister started crying, and then I started crying, and then Abby [Champion] started. It was like a domino effect of mayhem and tears.”
