According to Pataky, a big part of what makes the family's life in Australia so special is the time they spend together outdoors.
"It's just being able to enjoy nature. When we go to a city, it's hard for us as a family, because we live outside, basically," she explains. "We are in contact with nature all the time."

Hemsworth and Pataky star in a new commercial for Amazon, set to air during the 2026 Super Bowl. (In the ad, the Crime 101 star is convinced that Alexa+, now powered by generative AI, is plotting his demise.)
In real life, the couple loves using Alexa+, since she will help them keep things in order as a busy family of five.
"It helps a lot, especially in the house with three kids," Pataky tells PEOPLE, as Hemsworth adds: "I can focus on the more important things — I can hang out with my kids, I can hang with my wife, and we can go and have fun."
Hemsworth and Pataky's Amazon Alexa+ commercial will air during Super Bowl LX, which will take place between the New England Patriots and the Seattle Seahawks at Levi's Stadium in Santa Clara, Calif., on Sunday, Feb. 8.
