Burger King is bringing back a fan-favorite.
The fast food chain announced on Facebook on Tuesday, Feb. 17 that its Maple Bourbon BBQ Whopper, which first debuted in November 2024, will be returning to U.S. restaurants on Tuesday, Feb. 24.
Burger King hinted at the return of the popular whopper in a video which showed a customer being asked what he was eating, to which he answered the “Maple Bourbon BBQ Whopper with crunchy candied bacon, crispy onions and jalapenos, melty American cheese and Maple Bourbon BBQ sauce.”
The person then could be seen asking the customer if he could get a “pic” of the whopper as the sign “Whopper By You” showed up above the burger.

"Following the return of the Guest-inspired platform Whopper by You earlier this year, Burger King is bringing back (the) fan-demanded, limited-edition Whopper," Burger King said in a statement to PEOPLE.
Burger King said "each bite” of the Maple Bourbon BBQ Whopper “delivers a sweet-smoky kick, bringing a bold, indulgent flavor fans asked to see on the menu."
In addition to the Maple Bourbon BBQ Whopper, Burger King will be adding a $4 Big Fish Sandwich to its menu for those who won’t be eating meat during Lent leading up to Easter and those who are "simply in the mood for a familiar classic."
The Maple Bourbon BBQ Whopper hits restaurants over a month after Burger King released another one of its newest whopper options: the Ultimate Steakhouse Whopper. That whopper, released on Jan. 6., was made from a 4.4-oz. beef patty with onion rings, bacon, sautéed mushrooms, Swiss cheese and peppercorn aioli.
The Maple Bourbon BBQ Whopper and Ultimate Steakhouse Whopper are two flavors created from the popular “Whopper by You” launch Burger King kicked off last year. With this platform, fans were able to submit different burger creations.

In 2025, the “Whopper by You” resulted in the creations of the BBQ Brisket Whopper and Crispy Onion Whopper, which were available for a limited time.
The “Whopper by You” platform is still up and running online. To submit a burger, fans are first asked to choose a beef or Impossible patty. Then creators are meant to add three to six different toppings (all of which have to already be available on Burger King’s menu) before submitting their innovation.
