Brooke and her now-husband first met in 2021 when Brooke, who starred in the TLC reality series from 2011 to 2014, was visiting her hometown of Pittsburgh. At the time, she was living in Austin, Texas, and had returned home for the holidays.
"Her cousin, who is my close friend, introduced us to one another," Brian told PEOPLE in May 2024. "We did long distance for a few months before Brooke moved back to Pittsburgh."
He said the pair bonded over their love of travel, trying new restaurants and being active outdoors. "We also have a dog named Jack," he added.

In August 2024, they hosted an engagement party at the miniature golf venue Puttery in Pittsburgh.
The event's theme was "Tini Found Her Thalman," and the couple and their guests enjoyed a few rounds of golf, as well as light bites and desserts.
