Patrick Mahomes shared a sweet kiss with his wife, Brittany, before the Chiefs hosted the Indianapolis Colts in Week 2.
Just before kickoff on Sunday, Sept. 20, Brittany made her way to the sidelines to show support for her quarterback husband — who returned to the field on Monday, Sept. 14 after tearing both the ACL and LCL in his left knee last season — and wish him good luck with a kiss.
Mahomes was dressed in his Chiefs uniform and headband as he met his wife on the sidelines. Brittany, 31, made it clear she was ready to cheer on the Chiefs by wearing the team’s signature red color to Arrowhead Stadium.
Mahomes, who celebrated his 31st birthday on Sept. 17, scored the first touchdown in the Chiefs’ home opener against the Denver Broncos last Monday. The quarterback ran the ball into the end zone in his first game back from injury and celebrated his team’s win — and his return to the field — afterwards on social media.
“Want to give all glory and thanks to God! Letting me be out there doing what i love again,” Mahomes wrote in a post on X. The quarterback added, “Chiefs Kingdom this is just the start see y’all next week! 🙏🏽⏰.”
Brittany, 31, also celebrated her husband’s return to the field, writing, “HESSSSSS BACKKKKKKKK,” over a video of Mahomes’ touchdown that she filmed from her suite at Arrowhead Stadium.
The quarterback spoke about his grueling injury during a sit-down interview with ESPN’s Chris Berman that aired just before kickoff on Monday. “I was banged up at the end of last year, but we’re good to go now,” Mahomes said.

Mahomes and Brittany started dating in high school. They got engaged in September 2020 and officially tied the knot on March 12, 2022.
The couple welcomed their daughter, Sterling Skye, in February 2021, followed by their son, Patrick “Bronze” Lavon Mahomes III, in November 2022. In January 2025, Patrick and Brittany welcomed their third child, a daughter named Golden Raye, continuing the tradition of naming their kids after different types of precious metals.
