The royal family’s line of succession shifted after Queen Elizabeth died in 2022 at age 96 and King Charles immediately became king.
Elizabeth II, the eldest daughter of George VI and Queen Elizabeth, was the longest British monarch in history with a reign of 70 years.
In 1947, the Queen, born in 1926, married Prince Philip, who was the son of Princess Alice of Battenberg and Prince Andrew of Greece and Denmark.
