A recently married bride is demanding refunds from her vendors months after she walked down the aisle.
A woman who was commissioned by the bride’s parents to paint signs used at the wedding explained in a post on Reddit’s “Bridezillas” forum that she is just one of many wedding vendors who the bride tried to scam.
In her case, the bride was initially “happy” with her “beautiful” signs and couldn’t stop “gushing over them.” However, six weeks after the big day, she requested a partial refund of $100.

It took “about 35 hours” and “a lot of physical pain” for the artist to complete and hand-deliver the signs two months ahead of the wedding. At the time, there were no complaints about the design. Almost two months after the wedding, the signs were suddenly unsatisfactory.
“I get a message from the new bride stating she had noticed imperfections in the signs, some of the letters were slightly uneven or bigger than others,” the Redditor wrote. “She agreed it wasn’t too noticeable but others had apparently commented on it.”
While the artist is not formally trained, she’s still “really good.” Because she suffers from “nerve damage,” she admits “small tiny texts in print style font can be difficult to accomplish,” but she’s “open and honest” about that. It’s never been an issue because it’s always discussed beforehand, and this bride wanted a “handmade feel.”
“I explain that to give her a refund meant that I’d only be paid $30 for my work. $30 for 35 hours of work and physical pain,” the artist said. “She had two months to tell me she was unhappy but didn’t. That she herself loved the signs.”
The artist reminded the bride that she “was aware” that the font style she chose wouldn’t look perfectly printed, as they had previous conversations at length about this.
For these reasons, the artist denied her refund. In response, the bride blocked her and requested a charge back, which was also denied because the artist disputed it with screenshots from their conversations and photos of the signs.

Not long after, the artist (who is a coworker of the bride’s mother) stopped speaking to her. Later, she says someone else filled her in on why the bride was really requesting refunds.
“Turns out, the new bride had requested partial refunds from every single vendor and service received for her wedding. The venue, the catering, the photographer, her hair and makeup artist, the list goes on,” the artist learned.
The bride left her job to pursue dog breeding full time, but “it didn’t work out.”
“The majority of her wedding was paid for by her credit card, now she was in debt, fighting with her new husband over her excessive spending,” the artist wrote. “Apparently he’d given her full reign to do whatever she wanted as long as she didn’t pester him with organizing it.”
She continued: “To go into debt over one day is ridiculous in itself, but to try and scam small businesses and people doing you favors, is another.”
