Boxer Jarrell Miller didn’t let his hairpiece being knocked off stop him from defeating Kingsley Ibeh at New York’s Madison Square Garden.
On Saturday, Jan. 31, the heavyweight boxer, 37, was punched several times while fighting Ibeh, 32, eventually causing his toupee to lift off his head. In footage shared by the boxing outlet Ring Magazine on X, Miller’s toupee can be seen flapping after it dislodged.
He went on to toss his toupee towards the crowd before returning to the match, as seen in a video posted on X by DAZN Boxing.
Miller seemed unfazed after he lost his hairpiece during the second round of the fight as he went on to win the match by a split decision, per ESPN.

In a post-fight interview, Miller revealed that he lost his natural hair days before the bout, after shampooing with “ammonia bleach.”
“I get to my mama’s house. She had some shampoo bottles under her table and I shampooed it,” said Miller, per Ring Magazine. “Yo, the s–t was like ammonium bleach. I literally lost my hair like two days ago. So I called my man, he was like, ‘Let me slap that s–t on, real quick!’ Ibeh knocked that s–t off.”
Miller’s return to the ring on Saturday came after a 17-month hiatus, following his Andy Ruiz fight to a majority draw in August 2024, per ESPN.
The heavyweight boxer addressed the toupee incident on his Instagram, writing, “Hair today gONe tomorrow lmfao 😂. Year and a half off, that’s a lot of ring rust, but we got the win 🥇 thank GOD. On to the next…”

Alongside his caption, Miller shared an AI video of him driving a car with the roof off while his toupee lifted off his head in the wind.

“Never seen this in a fight before 😄,” one person wrote.
