Bobby Cannavale shared a sweet tribute to his longtime partner Rose Byrne after she received her first Academy Award nomination.
Byrne, 46, received a Best Actress nomination at the upcoming 2026 Oscars on Thursday, Jan. 22 for performance in If I Had Legs I’d Kick You. Later that day, Cannavale, 55, posted a screengrab of the couple celebrating over FaceTime to Instagram and celebrated Byrne. The pair have been together since 2013 and share two children.
“Academy Award Nominee Best Actress Winner Best Mama, Friend, Human What a moment @fullyrosebyrne. Also, thanks Google Home for letting me know someone walked in front of our house, again,” Cannavale wrote in his caption, noting the Google Home notification he received just as he took the screengrab of his FaceTime with Byrne.
Byrne is nominated for Best Actress alongside Jessie Buckley (Hamnet), Kate Hudson (Song Sung Blue), Renate Reinsve (Sentimental Value) and Emma Stone (Bugonia). She won a Golden Globe on Jan. 11, and was also nominated at the Critics Choice Awards. She’s also up for an award at the upcoming Actor Awards (formerly the Screen Actors Guild Awards) on March 1.
Several of Cannavale and Byrne’s famous friends commented on his post. “Love this so much!! Are you bringing the bearded dragon?” Naomi Watts asked in a comment, referencing the new family pet Cannavale purchased while apart from Byrne when she attended the Golden Globe Awards.
Amanda Seyfried posted supportive emojis — “❤️🙌” — in her own comment on the post, as did Sinners star Omar Benson Miller. “Sometimes the world makes sense!! So thrilled about this! ❤️❤️❤️,” Melanie Lynskey wrote, while Michelle Monaghan added in her own comment, “The most deserving!! 🙌🙌”

Byrne and Cannavale first met in 2012 through mutual friends and were dating by June 2013, when they made their red carpet debut as a couple. The couple share two sons: Rocco, 9, and Rafa, 8. (Cannavale also shares an older son, Jake, from a previous marriage to Jenny Lumet.)
While Byrne and Cannavale have not officially tied the knot, Byrne noted in a November interview with The Washington Post that she considers the couple “married.” “We just haven’t gone to the courthouse yet, but we’re married,” she said at the time.
