Billy Ray Cyrus had plenty of birthday love coming his way as he turned 65.
The country music star celebrated the milestone birthday on Tuesday, Aug. 25, with messages from his children, girlfriend Elizabeth Hurley and a long list of famous friends, including Shania Twain, Garth Brooks, Lil Nas X, Diplo, Gretchen Wilson and Dennis Quaid.
His family got the birthday tributes started, with daughter Noah Cyrus sharing a sweet video message for her dad.
“Happy birthday Fath[er],” Noah, 26, said in the Instagram video. “I love you and I miss you and I can’t wait to give you a big hug. You’re my hero. I love you so, so much. Happy birthday!”

Miley Cyrus followed with a message that mixed affection with a little teasing.
“Happy birthday Dad! I’m so grateful for you, mostly for your really good hair,” Miley, 33, said while tossing her own hair and blowing a kiss. “Love you! Happy birthday!”
Billy Ray has certainly packed a lot into his 65 years. He broke out as a country music star in the early 1990s with “Achy Breaky Heart.” He later reached a new generation of fans as Robby Ray Stewart, the father of Miley’s character on Disney Channel’s Hannah Montana.
Billy Ray’s son Braison Cyrus also marked the occasion, saying, “Dad, happy birthday! I love you. 65!”
Hurley, with whom Billy Ray went Instagram official in 2025, shared a message of her own.
“Hi baby. Happy birthday to you. I hope you have the best day and I love you very much,” Hurley said before blowing a kiss.

Her son, Damian Hurley, also sent his birthday wishes.
“Happy birthday BRC,” Damian, 24, said. “I love you. I miss you. Celebrate. Have the most beautiful day and I’ll see you soon. Muah. Big kiss.”
His famous friends also made sure to celebrate the big day.
Lil Nas X, who featured Billy Ray on his 2018 breakout hit “Old Town Road,” shared a particularly heartfelt message.
“Happy 65th birthday Billy,” the 27-year-old rapper said. “I know it’s been a long time since we’ve talked, but I hope everything is good on your end and I hope you’re living life on adventures and doing s— on your farm and stuff like that. But I’ll always have so much love and always be thankful and grateful for you and what you’ve done for my life. Thank you. Happy 65th!”

Brooks, 64, also checked in with a birthday message.
“Billy Ray, Mr. Yearwood here saying, ‘Happy birthday man!’” the country singer said. “I hope you enjoy your day. Sending love to you and your family.”
Diplo brought his own country flair to the celebration.
“Good morning, good morning Billy Ray Cyrus. It’s your birthday,” the 47-year-old DJ said. “Man, I love you, Billy Ray. I want to say happy birthday directly from Diplo’s house. Yeehaw!”
Twain, 60, meanwhile, was having a hard time believing the musician had reached 65.
“Happy birthday Billy Ray. This is Shania here,” the “Man! I Feel Like A Woman!” singer said. “I heard you’re 65. Well, I just don’t believe it. Anyways, have the best birthday ever. I’m all the way in Switzerland now. So, I’m far away, but I’m there in spirit. Have the greatest day and celebrate in style, which I know you will.”
“Kentucky’s finest,” another friend said while holding up a glass of whiskey. “It just gets better with age. Happy birthday my amazing friend and brother. Hope this is your best one yet.”
Wilson, 53, also sent her best.
“Hey, it’s ‘The Redneck Woman,’ saying ‘Happy birthday Billy Ray!’ Hope you have a great one,” she said.

The star’s nephew Luke Cyrus shared a message thanking his uncle for the impact he has had on his life.
“Hey Uncle Billy. Happy birthday! I just want to thank you for everything you’ve ever done for me. You’ve completely changed my life. I hope you have the best birthday ever,” he said.
Quaid, 72, had another reason to celebrate with his friend, congratulating Billy Ray on his new album.
“Hey Billy Ray. It’s Dennis Quaid. I wanted to wish you a happy birthday and congratulations on your new album,” he said.

The Bellamy Brothers also sent their birthday wishes.
“Hey Billy Ray, it’s Howard and David here,” they said. “Hey man, happy birthday. Happy birthday! We hope we see you on the road real soon. Congrats on your new album.”
Billy Ray’s longtime creative partner Jeffrey Steele kept his message simple.
“Billy Ray, hey brother. Happy birthday!” Steele, 64, said.
Kathy Mattea, who started her career on the same record label as the star, also sent a warm message.
“Hey Billy Ray! It’s been a long time since we started our careers on the same record label. I’m here to say happy birthday! Happy 65th! It’s a big one. You wear it well, my friend. I’m happy to know you, always happy to run into you. I wish you all the best on this special day,” she said.
Billy Ray’s birthday fell on an emotional day for the country music community, as Dolly Parton died at 80 following a brief battle with cancer.
Parton had a longstanding connection to the Cyrus family and was Miley’s godmother. She and Billy Ray also shared a friendship that stretched back many years. Following her death, Billy Ray shared a heartfelt tribute to the country icon.
“I have so many moments and memories with Dolly, it’s hard to know where to start,” he wrote. “Like every little boy, I grew up loving Dolly Parton. She was a part of our lives, on our TVs, right in our living rooms.”
He also revealed that Parton had recently sent him a personal message.
“Dolly recently sent me a beautiful message, telling me she loved me with her whole heart,” he wrote. “I will always love her in the same way ….. with my whole heart … and I always will.”
Billy Ray released his latest studio album, The Hill, on June 16. It marks his first album of original material in 14 years.
