It’s been a long journey for Bebe Rexha, but the other side feels great.
After attending the 2026 MTV VMAs as a nominee over the weekend, Rexha looked back on various hardships from the last few years as she celebrates life now in a TikTok post shared on Tuesday, Sept. 29.
The video opens with a photo of Rexha, 37, with a man who appears to be her ex-boyfriend Keyan Safyari with his face crossed out, as well as the contents of an alleged text message about their relationship that she previously shared in July 2023. The alleged message seemed to address how critical comments made about Rexha’s weight gain may have led to discussion of a split.

Rexha’s TikTok also includes three videos of herself crying, including one she previously shared in May from “the day I found out that the label I was signed to for 12 years officially decided to part ways with me,” as she wrote in the caption at the time. [She was previously signed to Warner Records.]
The clip then features with footage of Rexha walking the 2026 MTV Video Music Awards red carpet at the Peacock Theater in Los Angeles on Sunday, Sept. 27. She was nominated in the Best Dance category at the ceremony for the hit “New Religion” from her latest album, Dirty Blonde.

Rexha’s TikTok post concludes with her appearing happy on a plane and lip-syncing to the Dirty Blonde track “One Day,” which features lyrics about proving someone wrong by thriving with them. “One day, you’re gonna see me in a crowded place / I’ll be the feeling that you just can’t escape,” she sings.
“F— em,” Rexha captioned the post.
Dirty Blonde was released in June and marked Rexha’s first album as an independent artist.
In an interview with PEOPLE around its release, she spoke about recently getting rejected by record labels for the “craziest reasons,” like being “too old.” But she didn’t let the setbacks keep her down.
“I could have easily just stopped,” Rexha said at the time. “I’m most proud of not giving up.”
