Speaking on a recent episode of Inside of You with Michael Rosenbaum, Cartwright, 68, was asked, of voicing the iconic character while not recording the show: “I mean, do you ever catch yourself doing it and go, ‘Oh my god, stop it.” Do you ever do that to yourself?”
“Well, sometimes I can’t resist, and I do have to kind of throw him in there. It’s so easy to do,” Cartwright responded.

During a recent episode of her podcast, Simpsons Declassified, Cartwright was asked by Joe Mantegna, who voiced the Simpsons character Fat Tony, about “the most ridiculous place” that someone has asked her to do the Bart voice.
Cartwright explained that she was once on a flight to London when a flight attendant recognized her.
“She was like, ‘Sorry to interrupt you, Ms.Cartwright, but just wondering, are you the voice of Bart Simpson?’ I’m like, ‘Yes, I am,’ ” the actress recounted. “She goes, ‘Okay, both of our pilots are huge, huge fans, would there be any way if we could get you to come up into the cockpit and announce that we’re leading in Heathrow?’ ”
Cartwright said she then told the flight attendant that she would be “glad to do that.”
“So we go up, and I’m like shaking their hand,” she continued. “They handed me the microphone, and I said something like [in the voice of Bart Simpson] ‘Ladies and gentlemen, this is Bart Simpson speaking. I’m the copilot here, and I just wanted to let you know we will be landing in Japan in about 15 minutes, so buckle your seatbelts.’ ”

She decided to try out for Bart at the last minute, and the rest is history.
