The Bachelorette alum James McCoy Taylor was re-arrested in Texas, one year after authorities accused him of assault.
According to court records reviewed by PEOPLE, Taylor, 39, was re-arrested on Friday, March 20, in Brazos County, Texas, and was released later that day on a $10,000 surety bond. TMZ was the first to report the news.
Taylor was arrested on a warrant stemming from an April 2024 incident, in which he was accused of assault causing bodily injury and unlawful restraint, per arrest records reviewed by PEOPLE. The country singer was previously taken into custody in August 2024 in College Station, Texas, for the same two charges.

The probable cause warrant issued by the Bryan Police Department, previously obtained by PEOPLE, alleges that Taylor "intentionally or knowingly by force, intimidation or deception, restrain[ed] [a woman] without her consent by restricting the moments of the said [woman], by shoving her to the ground, getting on top of her and using his body weight to prevent her from getting off the ground."
In a statement shared with PEOPLE in 2024, the reality TV alum rejected the accusations, saying, "I'm a pretty big guy but I was trying to 'unlawfully restraining' a girl and she just … got away?… and walked right to her Uber right outside my house? With no injuries?"
He added, "I would never hurt anybody. I'm nice to EVERY person I meet."
Taylor did not immediately respond to PEOPLE's request for comment.

The probable cause document obtained by PEOPLE stated that Taylor and the woman met at a bar in College Station and allegedly went back to Taylor's condo, where they "made out" before the woman "changed her mind and wanted to leave."
She alleged to investigators that Taylor "tackled and got on top of her when she tried to leave," but she was eventually "able to escape and flee the scene before she called the police department."
She further alleged he "groped her vagina" and "used his body weight to hold her down and kiss her more," before she was "able to wiggle free and escape through the front door."
Per court records, Taylor pleaded guilty in 2025 and was ordered to undergo 80 hours of community service, pay a $750 fine and $350 in court costs, and attend anger management classes and was ordered to have no contact with the victim. He was also banned from the Northgate Entertainment District.
The Brazos County Sheriff’s Office did not immediately respond to PEOPLE's request for further information.
This is not the first time Taylor — who competed on JoJo Fletcher's season of The Bachelorette in 2016 — has been in trouble with the law.
In 2022, PEOPLE confirmed that he was detained in College Station, Texas on charges of driving while intoxicated and unlawfully carrying a weapon. Taylor was found guilty in 2023 and served five days in the Brazos County Detention Center. He was also fined and temporarily lost his driver’s license, according to KBTX.
