Artem Chigvinstev has returned to Instagram with his son by his side.
On Monday, Dec. 23, the Dancing with the Stars pro, 42, shared his first grid post on Instagram since Aug. 4, posting a Reel filled with black-and-white photos of the dancer and his 4-year-old son Matteo, whom he shares with ex Nikki Garcia, 41.
In the sweet photos, the father-son duo can be seen laughing and smiling together, hanging out with one another on thecouch.
“❤️,” Chigvinstev simply captioned the post, letting the photos speak for themselves.

In September, Garcia requested sole legal and physical custody of their son, allowing Chigvintsev visitation when she filed for divorce from her former partner after the dancer was arrested on suspicion of domestic violence. She also requested the court terminate spousal support for both parties, per the Sept. 11 petition obtained by PEOPLE.
Days after Garcia filed, Chigvinstev filed documents on Sept. 13 seeking joint legal and physical custody of their son Matteo and requested spousal support, according to court documents obtained by PEOPLE. He also asked that Garcia pay his attorney’s fees and costs.
“At this time, Mr. Chigvintsev will not comment on any pending proceeding,” said Chigvintsev’s attorney Ilona Antonyan. “The parties are focused on co-parenting and working together for the best interests of their son.”
In November, a rep for Garcia confirmed to PEOPLE that the former couple settled their divorce in a private mediation and would not be going to court.
Details of the settlement were unclear but “both parties decided to drop the domestic violence restraining orders against each other in an effort to move on with their lives and effectively co-parent their son,” the rep said in a statement.
“Nikki’s number one priority has always been her son and privacy on the matter,” the rep continued. “She is thankful for all of the love and support she has received during this difficult time.”
