Ant Anstead and Christina Haack may be on better terms these days, but they aren’t totally aligned when it comes to co-parenting their son.
On episode 4 of HGTV’s The Flip Off on Wednesday, Feb. 19, the British car expert and TV host appeared as a guest judge at his ex-wife’s request. In the clip above, Anstead arrives at Haack’s Newport Beach, Calif. home and requests “a Yorkshire tea with a splash of cold milk.”
Haack informs him she doesn’t think she has any tea — which is a red flag for Anstead.
“You’re raising a British boy. If you don’t have tea, there’s problems,” Anstead says, referring to their five-year-old son Hudson London. The exes share custody of Hudson, who splits time between Haack’s house and Anstead’s home in the Laguna Beach area, which he shares with his girlfriend of almost four years, Renée Zellweger.
Haack offers him the few tea bags she’s found in her kitchen, but none seem to suit his taste as he dryly opts for a glass of water.

Anstead is Haack’s second ex-husband. They were married from 2018 to 2020 and their divorce was followed by an extended, often-bitter custody battle over Hudson.
But just a few months ago, that changed. After Haack split from her third husband, Josh Hall, in July 2024, Anstead surprised her by warmly offering his support during the difficult time.

After not speaking more than necessary to co-parent for years, Ant “gave me a huge hug,” Haack revealed. “He just said ‘I’m so sorry for everything you’re going through and I’m here for you no matter what you need.’ It was a very nice moment. We had a long talk after and we decided to put all the BS aside and be good co-parents, like Tarek and I, for Hudson.”
Haack and her first husband Tarek El Moussa, who, along with his new wife Heather El Moussa, are Haack’s competition in the series’ house flipping showdown, share two children: Taylor, 14, and Brayden, 9.

Both Tarek and Heather were shocked to hear Anstead had signed on to be a guest judge, considering neither was aware Haack and Anstead were even on speaking terms.

“All of a sudden they’re besties,” Tarek recalled of seeing Anstead and Christina interact on set.

Ahead of the show’s debut, Hall was set to be Haack’s partner in the competition. After she revealed she and Hall had split, Haack joked about Anstead taking his place on the show.

After telling a fan on Instagram she thought adding her second husband to the lineup of theshow could be a “genius” promotional move, the Christina on the Coast star cleared up her current plans.
“It would be good for ratings, but I can’t work with any more exes,” she told Backgrid later. “I already work with Tarek.”
The Flip Off airs Wednesdays at 8 p.m. ET/PT on HGTV.
