Alix Earle is sharing new details about the timeline of her breakup with Braxton Berrios.
In December, PEOPLE confirmed that the influencer, 25, and the NFL player, 30, had split after two and a half years of dating. Across eight episodes, which release on Netflix on Sept. 4, Earle’s new reality TV series Earle Meets World charts the viral breakup — seeing the internet personality moving out of his home and weighing whether it was the right decision for the pair to go their separate ways.
Speaking to PEOPLE ahead of the show’s release, Earle reveals that her family had already been in talks with Netflix for their reality series before Earle and Berrios’s breakup.
When they first started considering the idea of filming a reality TV series in summer 2025, Earle says there were times when she wondered whether her family had “enough going on” in their lives that would be interesting to viewers.
“I really don’t want to do a show that’s manufactured drama because I feel like it’s easy — everyone can see right through that,” she says. “Then, all of a sudden, it was the most explosive four months ever.”

As a result, Earle’s breakup became one of the season’s major plot points. The content creator even acknowledges that some viewers might think that she was “dragging” out the breakup for the sake of the show — but defends how she acted.
“I’m just a girl and going through a breakup,” she says. “I don’t care if it’s my 45th time crying about it — it’s how I feel. And I just tried to put it out there. I’m like, ‘I don’t care if people are judging me and saying it’s crazy.’ ”
The season finale ends with a major cliffhanger as Earle calls Berrios to ask whether he would ever consider getting back together in the future, after which viewers only hear Berrios say two pivotal words: “Oh, Alix.”

And when asked if there’s still a door open for a rekindling, Earle tells PEOPLE, “We’re on good terms, and for what the future holds, we don’t know. We will see.”
