The dust is still settling from the season 3 finale of Reacher, but series stars Alan Ritchson and Maria Sten are already looking ahead to season 4.
In an interview with Men’s Journal posted on Thursday, March 27, Ritchson, 42, and Sten, 35, shared which books from Lee Child’s famed series they would like to see adapted as Reacher heads into its fourth season on Prime Video. However, at least in Sten’s case, she’s fairly certain her chosen Jack Reacher story will never make it to the small screen.
“My favorite book is — and they’ll probably never do it — but it’s Without Fail,” Sten, who plays Frances Neagley (and is in the process of filming her own spinoff) told the outlet.
Without Fail is the sixth book in Child’s series, and it follows Reacher and Neagley as they work together to stop the assassination of the Vice President. Although she’s busy filming the upcoming Prime Video series Neagley, Sten also said she would love to return to Reacher if the show gets around to adapting Without Fail.
She added, “I would really love Neagley to pop back on Reacher to do that one.”

As for Ritchson, his favorite Reacher story would involve his larger than life character going on a forced road trip across America. The actor told Men’s Journal, “My favorite book is Die Trying.”
In Die Trying, the former U.S. Army Military Police Officer is kidnapped off a street in Chicago and handcuffed to a woman who claims she’s FBI. The two are then driven across the country as Reacher tries to unravel why he was taken in the first place.
“I would love to see that happen,” Ritchson told the outlet. “And so far, there’s been a lot of discussion about whether or not we should or should not. I guess we’ll see what the future holds. I’ll find a way.”

Season 1 of Reacher adapted the first book in the series, Killing Floor, season 2 tackled Bad Luck and Trouble and the third season took inspiration from Persuader.
With season 4 officially ordered at Prime Video, there’s definitely more Jack Reacher adventures to come — however, the question remains which one of the 29 books will be adapted next.
