The ‘Growns Ups’ producer and star shares his two daughters, Sadie and Sunny, with wife Jackie

Adam Sandler had his family by his side to celebrate his and his daughter’s new movie.
The Grown Ups producer and star, 59, was joined by his wife Jackie, also 59, and his two daughters Sunny, 17, and Sadie, 20, on the red carpet for the New York premiere of his new film Don’t Say Good Luck. The family of four was all smiles as they posed for pictures at The Plaza Hotel.
Sandler wore a bright blue polo shirt with a flamingo pattern, blue sweatpants and burgundy sneakers, while his wife donned a simple black gown that ended just below her knees. The married couple’s daughters looked elegant in their outfits. Sunny, who plays the lead in the film, wore a green floor-length dress, while Sadie wore a satin black dress.
The movie is produced by both Adam and his wife, Jackie.

In the film, Sunny stars as Sophie Birenbaum, whose life gets turned upside down right as she lands the lead role in her high school’s play. The trailer, released July 23, meets Sophie just before her big audition for her school play, for which she’s been practicing and rehearsing diligently while occasionally eyeing a boy of interest.
“Just say ‘break a leg!’ ” Sophie tells her mother (Melanie Lynskey) after she tries to wish her daughter good luck. “But I would be so sad if you broke your leg,” she protests.
Moments before her audition, Sophie gets a butt-dial call from her father (Max Greenfield), which connects her to a conversation she never wanted to hear: her mother’s cancer has come back. On stage, she fights back tears.
With this news comes several hard conversations and difficult emotions — and the moment in time is made all the more complicated when Sophie lands the lead role in the play, opposite the boy she’s been crushing on.
On Monday, Aug. 3, the 17-year-old appeared on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon to promote her upcoming Netflix movie. While chatting about her famous dad, Sunny recalled impersonating him as a kid alongside her older sister Sadie.
“When me and my sister were younger, we dressed up in his clothes, before that was popular and cool,” Sunny said. “The big shirts, the shorts. We held Diet Cokes and yelled about the air conditioning being off. And then we jumped in the pool with our socks on because he wears his socks in the pool because he can’t bend to take them off on land.”
“I swear it’s true,” she added.

When host Jimmy Fallon asked if Adam then takes his socks off once he’s in the pool, Sunny replied, “Yes. And then he’ll drain them, and then you play catch with them.”
Don’t Say Good Luck debuts on Netflix on Aug. 14.
