NEED TO KNOW
- 20 couples tied the knot on the ice rink at Maverik Center, the home of the Utah Grizzlies
- The rink was a sea of wedding gowns, suit jackets and Grizzlies gear, and the team’s mascot Grizzbee was even present for the mass nuptials
- To make the night even more special, the home team secured a last-minute win against the Tulsa Oilers
Scores of couples declared their love on the ice before the home hockey team skated its way to victory.
During the March 15 Utah Grizzlies game, 20 couples got hitched at the rink in West Valley City, Utah, as part of a special mass wedding ceremony called Lucky in Love with KBER 101, per the local station Fox 13 News. The thrill of 20 new unions was even greater when the home team secured a last-minute win, 4-3, against the Tulsa Oilers.
The ice rink at Maverik Center was a sea of wedding gowns, suit jackets, bouquets and a healthy helping of Grizzlies colors and gear, standing beneath a green, silver, gold and white balloon arch. KBER 101's morning host John “The Metal Mailman” Hernandez served as the officiant, while middays host Lindsey Armstrong was the flower girl.
In a "fun twist," the radio station tells PEOPLE, the Grizzlies' mascot, Grizzbee, was one of the grooms. He had served as the team's mascot for 20 years, and as the Grizzlies are leaving Utah next year, the opportunity to get married at Maverik Center felt meaningful for him and his fiancée, per the station.

The radio station rolled out the red carpet for the occasion (literally) and welcomed the 20 couples to the center of the rink. Each couple had responded to an advertisement and submitted a letter to KBER 101 to be considered for the special occasion, Fox 13 reported.
Serrenity and Levi Holiday, who wore matching Grizzlies jerseys for their nuptials, told the outlet they met at the bride's workplace. Serrenity told the outlet that she was too shy to approach Levi at the time, so she enlisted a friend to make an introduction, which was ultimately a "great decision," she added.

Levi has been a Grizzlies fan since he was 14, so, when the opportunity to get married during a Grizzlies game arose, Levi and Serrenity knew it was the right venue for them.
"Tonight was a very special night for me," Levi said.

Another couple, Kelly and Jamie Hertel leaned into the unconventional ceremony even further and chose their wedding outfits as a nod to the night their relationship began: Halloween. Kelly pulled up to the wedding ceremony in full costume — a three-way cross between a skeleton, a cowboy and the tinman — the same way he looked on his first date with Jamie.

PEOPLE has contacted the Utah Grizzlies for comment.
While the 20 couples celebrated their new unions, the Grizzlies secured a hard-fought win against the Oilers, with Utah's Danny Dzhaniyev scoring the winning goal with just 10.5 seconds left in regulation, per the Utah Grizzlies' site.
