Two toddlers in Texas have died after police were alerted to the potential drowning of two young girls at a home in Katy.
On Wednesday, Feb. 11, Harris County Sheriff Ed Gonzalez announced in a post on X that deputies were responding to a residence at the 21000 block of Creek Edge Ct in regards to the potential drowning of two female toddlers who were possibly aged 2 and 3 years old.
Gonzalez added that the circumstances and conditions of the toddlers were unknown, but that a LifeFlight had been requested.
In an update shared four hours later, Gonzalez shared that both toddlers had tragically died following the incident.

“I am saddened to share that both toddlers were pronounced deceased at the hospital despite lifesaving efforts,” he wrote, adding that the incident was a “devastating loss for the family and our community.”

According to local media outlet KTRK-TV, the sheriff’s office said a woman had called 911 and was screaming that two children had drowned in a pool. When authorities arrived at the home, they found EMS performing life-saving measures.
The toddlers lived at the home with their mom and grandparents, according to the sheriff’s office, per the outlet.
The outlet reports that according to preliminary information, the children’s grandmother had returned from grocery shopping and saw the girls in the pool. She then tried to pull them out, along with her daughter, husband and their neighbors.
Gonzalez said an investigation into the incident is ongoing.
According to KTRK-TV, the homicide and crime scene departments are investigating.
