Jay-Z once rapped, “Matching tats, this ink don’t come off/Even if the rings come off,” in his and Beyoncé’s song, “Part II (On the Run).” The music superstars are one of the many celebrity couples who have commemorated their love in permanent ink.
Other stars such as Ayesha and Steph Curry, Zendaya and Tom Holland and Chrissy Teigen and John Legend have also gotten tattoos signifying special moments in their love stories, such as initials, their children’s names and symbols of their union.
Below, see some of the celebrities who have gotten matching tattoos with their partners.
Zendaya and Tom Holland

These two may be playing coy about whether or not they’re married, but one thing is for sure: Their love is solid. The couple, who’ve been together since 2017, put their love in ink in November 2024, months before confirming their engagement.
“They were lovely to meet and it was a lot of fun!” Lily Jarnryd, an artist at Boston Tattoo Company where the couple got the ink, told PEOPLE exclusively. Zendaya got a small “t” tattoo just below her underarm, while her beau opted for an equally discreet “z” on top of his ribcage.
And while the Euphoria star debuted hers at the Golden Globes in 2025 (and showed it off recently at the show’s L.A. premiere), Holland’s is yet to be spotted.
Steph and Ayesha Curry

Steph and Ayesha Curry have not one but two sets of matching tattoos. In 2014, the couple got a pair of matching arrows pointing at each other, on their arms.
“This signifies that the past is behind us and the future is in front of us, so we stay in the middle, in the moment,” Stephen told Parents magazine in 2016, per CBS Sports.
They doubled up in 2019, when they got unique geometric tats honoring their first three children, daughters Ryan and Riley and son Canon. (The couple later welcomed another baby boy named Caius Chai.)
“Each has a deeper meaning and representation to us,” Ayesha wrote on Instagram. “Canon will always be our young wolf. Ryan our butterfly (this one makes me cry with joy just thinking about it) and Riley our horse (free spirited, which we turned into a unicorn because she’s our magical first born).”

It’s not only their names that match; these two also put their love in twin ink.
The Twilight star surprised his wife with an at-home visit from a tattoo artist for her 26th birthday back in 2023. Their tattoo of choice? “11.11.22,” their wedding date.
“best birthday surprise ever😍🤍,” Tay wrote underneath a video of the special day.
John Legend and Chrissy Teigen

John Legend and Chrissy Teigen became a “tattoo family” in 2019, when the duo got each other’s names, as well as the names of their two eldest children, Luna and Miles, tattooed on their inner arms.
“Hey guys please don’t talk to us unless u have tattoos we are a cool tattoo family now and we only want to talk to other tattoo families (srry if this seems harsh),” Teigen joked.
In November 2020, the couple visited the parlor again, this time to honor their late son, Jack, whom they lost after 20 weeks of pregnancy. Winterstone, their go-to spot, shared images of the sweet homage.
Legend and Teigen have since welcomed two more kids, daughter Esti and son Wren. In 2024, Legend revealed he added the new babies to his collection, writing on Instagram, “I don’t have much ink on my body. My first tattoo was ‘chrissylunamiles’ in a subtle heart-monitor-like cursive on my right arm to honor my growing family. So I asked @winterstone to come back and mirror it with the new babies. Presenting ‘chrissyestiwren’ for the left arm.”
“If you zoom/squint/get reading glasses you can see it 😂” the “All of Me” singer joked.
During a 2025 appearance on With Love, Meghan, Teigen also confessed she got their kids’ birthdays tattooed because she can’t remember them all.
David and Victoria Beckham

When it comes to setting trends in the early aughts, no one did it better than Victoria and David Beckham. The pair were among the celebrities who popularized the idea of getting tatted with your significant other. In 2005, the couple got matching Hebrew tattoos that translated to “I am my beloved’s and my beloved is mine.” Hers ran from the back of her neck to the top of her spine; his was among his arm tattoos.
And while Victoria also had David’s initials tattooed on her wrist, she’s since removed all of her ink. “They just didn’t look so nice,” she told Hoda Kotb during an appearance on Today back in 2022. “It doesn’t mean anything more than that.”
David, on the other hand, has continued to grow his collection, which easily numbers in the nineties now. In 2023, the soccer star added “Posh” to his middle finger, a nod to VB’s girl group start.
Jay-Z and Beyoncé

In the early aughts, Beyonce and Jay-Z kept their relationship almost completely private. So, when they popped out with matching “IV” tattoos on their ring fingers shortly after their April 4, 2008 nuptials, fans speculated it was to honor the milestone date.
In a 2011 documentary chronicling the makings of her fourth album, titled Year of 4, the “Countdown” singer revealed it was actually much more than that. “It’s my favorite number since I was a kid. It’s the number of my birthday, September 4th; my mother’s birthday, January 4th; my husband’s birthday, December 4th. It’s [also] the anniversary of my wedding,” she said.
For their ninth anniversary in 2017, Beyoncé gave fans an up close look of their permanent ink. “I don’t need air in my lungs if I can’t sing your song,” she wrote referencing lyrics to “Die with You,” a song she wrote for her husband.
Bey’s tattoo has since been altered. She also added three tiny dots, which seemingly represent their three children — Blue Ivy, Rumi and Sir Carter.
Jennifer Lopez and Ben Affleck

After reconciling in 2021, Jennifer Lopez and Ben Affleck tied the knot in 2022. For their first Valentine’s Day as husband and wife in 2023, Lopez revealed on Instagram that they had gotten complementary tattoos to symbolize their love.
Hers was a ribcage tat of an infinity sign that appeared to have the names “Jennifer” and “Ben” written in cursive, with an arrow going through the symbol. His featured two arrows crossing one another, with letters “J” and “B” written in the middle.
“Commitment ♾️ Happy Valentine’s Day my love 🤍,” Lopez captioned the photos.
Lopez and Affleck split two years later, and it’s unclear whether or not either party kept the ink.
Justin and Hailey Bieber
Justin and Hailey Bieber went the fun and whimsical route for their matching tattoos. In 2021, the couple visited famed artist Brian Woo (a.k.a. Dr. Woo) and got peach emojis inked, in honor of Bieber’s hit of the same name. In an Instagram post shared to his page, Woo showed Justin’s neck, while a since-expired Instagram Story showed Hailey’s on her arm.
But the 2021 ink wasn’t their first matching tattoo set. In 2018, celebrity tattoo artist Bang Bang revealed to Page Six TV that he had given the lovebirds some lowkey tats. The outlet pointed out the Biebs might have already revealed the secret ink, as he sported a teeny tattoo that spelled “grace” that July.
“They each got a tattoo,” he revealed at the time. “Justin’s tattoo is on his face, and I haven’t seen any photos of it — so he’s doing a good job of laying low.”
Khloé Kardashian and Lamar Odom

Khloé Kardashian and Lamar Odom got each other’s initials tatted on their hands before they even headed for a honeymoon following their whirlwind 2009 wedding.
“When we were at dinner, I just knew I wanted a tattoo for Lamar in the web of my hand,” the reality TV star wrote on her blog. “Once we got to the shop we decided on getting each other’s initials. I got ‘LO’ in cursive on my right hand and he got ‘KO’ on both hands.”
The couple divorced in 2016 and both parties have seemingly removed the stamps.
Kylie Jenner ans Travis Scott

Khloé’s little sister Kylie Jenner got matching butterfly tattoos when she first started dating rapper Travis Scott in 2017. She gave some insight on the significance three years later, while explaining her and daughter Stormi’s matching butterfly Halloween costumes.
“When Travis and I first got together we got matching little butterfly tattoos,” she said in a YouTube video. “So a butterfly is just a symbol of our relationship and Stormi, so it was really special to do the butterfly costume.”
The pair welcomed their son Aire in 2022, before going their separate ways the following year.
Priyanka Chopra and Nick Jonas

Priyanka Chopra Jonas revealed she and husband Nick have matching tattoos during an interview with British Vogue.
“I have a check and a box behind my ears,” she told the publication. “My husband has them on his arms because when he proposed, he [said] that I checked all his boxes, and would I check another one?”
The tattoos, which fans have gotten fleeting glimpses of through the years, are part of a larger collection for both.
